My review: burberry fresh fluid glow foundation

 February 7th, 2017
Hello readers, today I want to review the "Fresh Glow" foundation by Burberry which I bought last year in fall (2015).

The packaging is very classic with the very popular Burburry design on the cap which also double as a mirror. The bottle is not heavy, the pump works well and dispenses the right amount of product. For an everyday look I use 2 pumps for a light to medium coverage which

My updated review on the microfiber makeup remover glove by GLOV 2/2

 September 14th 2016
Hello readers today I am doing a second review on the microfiber makeup remover glove by the brand GLOV. You can read HERE  the first review I did a few months ago. There are several things that I like about it and several things that disturb me so I felt the need to use it for a longer period of time to get the most honest opinion possible. Which means I had to buy an other one. On my previous review you can read very detailed information about it. But as it is a second review I really wanted to enhance what I like and dislike the most about this product.

Favorite winter products or how does my skin survive in the winter.

 February 4th; 2016
lire en français ici

Hello readers the winter and I are far from being best friends; I am a summer baby. I was born in February but where I was born February is a hot summer month. Luckily the winter has been nice so far in France but things can change anytime. Not only my spirit but also my skin have an issue with the winter season. I can't do too much for my spirit but I have some great staple products to help each part of my skin go through the season with no damages.

BODY
Castor oil
For many years I have not been able to find a good body moisturizer that would be efficient enough for my dry skin during the winter months. So what I used to do was mixing some castor oil with a regular moisturizer. This simple step improves drastically the moisture properties of your regular cream. And almost any cream becomes suitable for the winter.

Palmer's cocoa butter body lotion
Recently I found out about this cream thanks to a friend who swears by it. She convinced me to give it a try and I fall in love with it. It moisturizes my body very well; it penetrates the skin fast and leaves it so soft. This product has a strong but lovely natural coco butter smell. It is also very cheap, so what else can we ask ?

NAILS/HANDS
Caudalie hand and nail cream
As long as I can remember my mom has always used hand and nail creams and her hands are beautiful! She has always told me that I should use one especially as my hands are always dry. It took me years to follow her advice but I finally did it several years ago and this Caudalie hand and nail cream is one of my favorite. I love the fact that it is effective but not greasy. The smell is nice but not too strong unlike many others hand creams I have tried.

THE FACE
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream and La Roche-Posay Hydréane rich moisturizing cream for sensitive skin.

Those two facial creams are my favorite during the cold days. Those are great moisturizers for normal to combination skin in the winter. They do not make my combination skin looks greasy. Both products are fragrance-free which is a good thing for my very sensitive skin.(learn everything on moisturizers HERE)

LIPS
Caudalie lip conditioner
I said it so many times on this blog but I am going to say it again. My lips are naturally very dry all year-round. I have tried a tone of lip balms but this one is the only one who can repair my lips. In the winter I love to use it in the evening so my lips get repair during the night and in the morning they are much softer.

Nuxe Rêve de miel/ultra-nourishing lip balm for dry or damaged lips
This product is pretty unique and full of natural ingredients. It looks and feels more like a very thick paste than a balm. It does not repair my lips but it does protect them very well against the very cold weather. So I useit in the winter only during the day time (read a detail review of this product HERE). As you can see I am more than prepare for the cold days to come.

What about you? Do you have any staple products in the winter ?

How to quickly get rid of a pimple: my 4 tips

 January 22nd, 2016
Hello readers, today I want to share with you 4 tips to quickly get rid of spots. If you suffer from severe acne do not expect thoses tips to get rid of it but they will help you control it better. Those tips also help to get rid of the bigger and more stubborn spots safely. Thankfully I do not suffer from acne anymore but I may get a spot here and there and the below products are not only a great help to quickly get rid of it but also a good way to prevent stubborn dark spot  and scars that we get when we pick at blemishes with our fingers. By the way it is something that should NEVER be done.

Aloe Vera gel has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and comes in the form of a clear gel that is easy to spread out on the face. It is very gentle on the skin, actually too gentle to get rid of big stubborn pimples but efficient enough to control the irruption of small pimples  in a large area or all over the face. I mostly need to use it that way, all other my face when I have allergic reactionc, and I let it sit for 20 min or overnight. The next morning pimples start to disappear.

Tea tree oil also has antibacterial properties. This is an essential oil so it is very potent. It works by drying out the pimple. I used to use it on the biggest and the most stubborn pimples only and I was making sure that the oil would only touch the affected area. It is very effective and it works pretty fast so if you overlap on the "healthy skin" area, it will get dry out badly. With the tea tree oil the big pimples disappear quickly but on my skin it leaves some bad hyperpigmentation behind athough it tends disappear quickly.

3-I read a while back that tooth paste could get rid of pimples and did not believe it until I tried it myself. The tooth paste works on the skin the same way as the tea tree oil does. I find it as effective but less drying, it also leaves some hyperpigmentation behind but not as bad as the tea tree oil. I don't know the science behind it and many people also say that it is not good for the skin. But I have been using it for years and I have never gotten an allergic reaction on my very sensitive skin; it works great for me.

The easiest way to quickly get rid of a blemish is to use a spot eraser if you can find one that works. Finding one that works great is the most difficult part in my opinion. I have tried many but was not able to find a good one until recently when I started to use the Uriage/Hyséac sos paste. It does not leave an dar spot behind, it is not drying so you can use it on small or large area of your skin. You can read a full review on it HERE and so far it is my favorite way to quickly get rid of a pimple.

Hope those tips were helpful and let me know if you have any tips and tricks yourself.

Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow palette in Fallen Angel
I have several palettes from this brand and I have been using them for several years already; actually since they were launched. But my favorite this year has been the "Fallen Angel" one because it is perfect for a very natural everyday look but also for a stronger one if you use the darkest color. As all Charlotte Tilbury palette I love the pigmentation and it applies and blend very easily.

Details on this Charlotte Tilbury look are HERE

KIKO nail polishes
All nail polishes lines of the KIKO brand I have tried so far are perfect, and I have tried many. They have perfect pigmentation they have tones of color available and they are cheap. Whatelse can we ask ?
