Hello readers, the weather has not been nice lately so I have to be honest; it made be very reluctant to go outside to take pictures of my outfits. Luckily I recently found out pictures that I took 2 years ago in Spring. Those pictures were taken on a lovely Saturday while I was spending some time with my family in one of my favorite French city; Marseille.

An outfit for work : Shades of blue !

Hello readers, today I want to share with you an outfit look I wore last week during a lunch break with one of my friend. She works close to the nice "Jardin du Luxembourg" in Paris so I met her there and that is were we had our lunch. We were able to enjoy a sunny day who almost made us forget that vacations are over.

I think that for a work outfit everything is about balance when you want to look professional. For instance for someone like me who enjoys fashion but work in a corporate environment surrounded by men mainly; I have to be careful that my love for fashion is not too much out there but at the same time I have to find a way to stay myself.
Here I keep the outfit on the professional side by wearing nice but classic shoes with average size heels for instance. The jacket is styled like a "Chanel" jacket which also gives a very classic style to the look although it is in a bright blue color which totally reflects my love for colors. A classic looking item in a bold color is a perfect way to balance your outfit.

Now, the dress itself is perfect as it is not too tight, not too short, not too bright, with no decolleté. It is a great way to stay feminin in a work place environement without people having to say anything negative or sexist about the way you look. They might say you look good or you look classy but that's about it.
This day time look for work is also easy to transform into an evening look if needed. Just remove your classic jacket, add more lipstick, add gold looking bracelets and change those very classic pair of pearl earings which are perfect for work, for big "party" earings instead.

Hope you enjoy the look !

Meet my boyfriend jeans: street style and casual

 July 10, 2015

Hello readers today I want to showcase an outfit of the day that I first wore when I was on vacation in Canada (check my Instagram: heredianna). When my friend so it she said she loved it so I decidedto wear that same outfit a few days ago while I was shopping with an other friend in Paris.
This outfit is very comfortable because everything is a little large and on my feets I have very comfortable snickers. While I was in Canada I spent my time walking from one place to an other and although I love being cute, what I wanted the most was to be 100% comfortable in order to enjoy my vacation fully. The below bag that I have carried around for years now is so practicale because it has enough space for everything, even my big laptop.

For this look I tried to get both words; bringing cute and comfortable at the same time. For the cute side I paid attention to small details like making sure my nails are on point, and also accessorzing my hand with this nice ring below.

First I love the colors details on the top as they bring some life to the outfit; also it may seem pretty simple up front but the holes associated with the bow ties on the back  gives a cute girly finish to the look which may seem more masculin at first with those unstructured boyfriend jeans and those black snickers.

I found those snickers 3 to 4 years ago and that was love at first sight... At the time I was looking for the trendy  wedge heel snickers that everyone ws rocking but could not found anything I loved enough. Then I saw those ones which has a similar style although they are flats. As I am tall I don't really need the wedges heels anyway. For the story my mom fall in love with those as well as soon as she saw it on me so I got the same pair for her.

The boyfriend jeans can be styled in different ways but for that look I wanted the casual style to stand out the most with mostly neutral colors. Black for the shoes and the bag, blue for the jeans and grey for the cardigan. Here the top is a reminder that even if I can rock a more masculin simple look I still have  this girly thing in me...
Hope you enjoy the look !

Girl in the South: Pretty but cozy...

 February 24th; 2015
On a previous post I told you that I went back to my hometown in South of France for Christmas, and while I was there, one day I decided to photograph one of my outfit as I was browsing the old city with one of my sister.
That day I decided to keep most of colors of my outfit close to earthy tones. I got this beautiful silk dress a few years ago and I like to wear it for any seasons although I think that those colors work the best during fall or winter. It has no sleeves so for the winter I just put a sweater on top and wear it has a skirt, same as here. Instead of going for the classic black tights I decided to do things a little bit different and chose navy ones instead
For the sweater I picked a very simple grey one to emphasize even more the different shades of grey I have on my dress. The weather in South of France was pretty nice but I wanted ro wear at least one piece that would reminds of winter, so I picked those very warm and cozy brown boots which are wool-lined. I had so many “cold” colors on me that I decided to add some warmth with those classic gold looking jewelries.

My entire outfit tends to be on the earthy tones but this coat has a bright orange inner-coat which brings a strong pop of color. For the bag I just carried on my everyday "bowling" type bag in which I can store pretty much my all life.
I did not do anything special to my hair except for removing an old flat twist style and it gave me that nice flat twist out look. (See my flat twists style HERE).

It was a very beautiful winter day, perfect to hang around so all I wanted was to look good but also very comfortable and I was, definetely.

Girl at a winter wedding: tomato red

 January 25th; 2015

Hello readers on one of my previous post I talked about the fact that I went to a winter wedding back at the beginning of December. It was just on the weekend I was coming back from India and I did not know about the wedding until I was already out of the country. As a result I had to look for an outfit when I came back; so I had 5 days only...
At first I thought it would be very easy to find an outfit as we were close to the holidays but what I found mostly in stores were black outfits. Black dresses, black skirts, black tops, black everything... If you read my blog you know that black is not a color that I often wear especially not for a wedding. So I really had to go in every stores to get something that I would enjoy.
After spending all my time after work in my avorite stores i decided to enlarge my research and I went to a French store that target older women. You should not disregard those stores if you enjoy fashion. And that is where I found this beautiful tomato red dress. I enjoyed the cut with this fake crop top that is a big trend this winter; and from what I have recently seen in stores this trend will follow us this spring and summer as well.

It your size is not well fefined it is perfect to give the illusion it is. Also because the crop top part is placed higher than the size it ellongates your legs and also gives the illusion that you are taller. For the accessorie I used a long simple neckless that I already owned and that was matching my purse.
You have already seen this purse on a previous post HERE. I picked this one as it gives a younger and edgier style to this look. Yes this dress is nice but it you choose to wear it with classic accessories only it will make the final look look to "old woman". For my shoes I used the same idea: edgy and young. I did look for shoes that would be more funky but really there was nothing in stores that I like so I used what I already had.
On my way back from Chennai to France my skin and my lips suffered a lot from the cold climate and was acting up so I was doing very simple makeup. And that what I did below: a simple smoky eye done with a black eye-liner only, waterproof mascara as usual, some foundation, some powder
and that's it.
So that's how I decided to style my accessories with that dress: classic earings and neckless. Edgy shoes and purse. As it was very cold I was very happy that I had bought this lovely pashmina in Chennai. I had chose this one because I figured out that it will fit well wit most colors. I was not wrong since then I wore it a lot and it seems to go well with everything.
I had a very great time at this family wedding and I hope this look will inspire you .

Girls night out: Smart combinaison ...

October 19th; 2014
Hello readers today I want to share the last outfit of the day before my departure from Paris. It was an amazing evening with my girlfriends before I took off for India ( more on my Facebook page HERE). We started the evening at a restaurant then walked in Paris streets to finish the night in a trendy bar.
I remember that that evening I could not find anything fancy enough to wear so I decided to go for a semi-fancy outfit; meaning something chic but comfortable. Because it is large, the animal print top was really comfortable to wear but still chic as it is made with a material that is partially see-through. For that reason I also wore a very thin black tank top underneath. This printed top bring some color to this outfit thus it is not boring.

I often wear those above black pants to go to work but never thought about using them for a night out until that day. I actually realized that the baroque prints with those lace-like embossed design work nice for the evening as well. I just had to accessorize the outfit in an appropriate way to finalize the look. I picked up nice but simple black shoes and added an orange nail polish on my toenails and nails to bring a new touch of color.
I also picked a large simple gold/bronze looking bracelet for my left arm.  I am also wearing small earings which has a baroque style that reminded me of the design on my pants.
The last accessorize is the above purse that I had bought earlier that day and I was very proud of it. It is looking like leather with snake looking design but it is just a good imitation. There are some touch of gold here and there that makes it perfect as an evening purse.
For this look I mixed many materials (leather, sheer, lace-like, leather) and prints (jaguar, snake, baroque) that makes this outfit look originial; but when you do that, you may loose the "identity" of the look. I have two tips to avoid that. Number one, make sure to have a dominant color so the look does not seem to go all other the place; here it is black. Number two keep it simple, meaning simple accessories, simple cut for the clothes, no need to add anything extravagant here it would be too much. Hope it will give you inspiration for your next night out.
