A little bit more about me: from my smartpone to you !

 09 Septembre 2015
Hello readers, yesterday I decided to "clean" my smartphone so I started to transfer pictures fom my Samsung S5 to my computer. In the process I realised that I had forgotten about many of those pictures. It is so easy to take pictures with our phones nowadays but what do we do with those ? We lost them, we forget about it. Of course I shared some of them on my Instagram account (heredianna) but I can't share all of them there, so today I decided to go back in time to share a few of those with you.

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2014
The three below pictures were taken in India where I worked for a few months. It was an amazing experience but also very scary, at first. Most of the time I was going out with co-workers as almost everyone advised me not to go out by myself because they were scared. Scared of the attention I could bring, scared that I could get lost, scared that I would not find anyone who speak english on the streets. Well, I stayed there way to long to not go out by myself so of course I did, and all of of the things that scared my surrounding happened. I consider that as being part of this amazing experience and despite everything I only met great people. The below picture was my first selfie in Chennai, out and about all by myself.

I was in India for work so I did not have much time to visit but the above picture was taken during my favorite trip to Kerala with some colleagues. We spent a night on this backwater/boathouse and the above picture was taken during the sunrise. We saw children going to school by boat, fishermen, mothers bathing their children in the river... Everyone was smiling and so nice to us. That was a magical moment that I will never forget...

DECEMBER 2014
December reminds me of the winter which I don't like but it also reminds me of Christmas which I enjoy. The below picture was taken from our Christmas table in my family in South of France. Great food, great moment, great memories with my family; as always
While I was on vacations in South of France I sent the below picture to my friend who was still working in grey Paris to remind her that in my hometown the sky is always clear and blue. How nice of me???

MAY 2015
The below pictures where taken in Congo/Brazzaville where I had the time of my life. I was born there 32 years ago and left with my family when I was only a few months old. That trip was my very first trip back there so it was amazing and very emotional...
During my trip to Congo I absolutely wanted to bring back some arts and I looked everywhere to find something I loved. My mother was very patient with me and I ended up getting 2 paintings; the above being my favorite. You can also meet the artist who did it.
My time in Congo was like being in a dream come true. Actually it was a dream come true for real. I was just having a great time walking around and eating the great food cooked everyday by my mom. She was cooking everyday fresh meat, fish, vegetabes and fruits which are all organics there. She is the best cook so that was a pleasure to seat at the table everyday...

JUNE 2015
London is one of my favorite city. Love the architecture, love the huge parcs, love the british accent, love the diversity, love the shopping and love the culture... I was there for a long weekend in June for a bachelorette party and I took this opportunity to spend some time with some of my family members who live there. Great city, great time as usual and of course I did some shopping...

RANDOM
1- Below, a sophisticated makeuplook that was supposed to be 100% drugstore to be featured on my blog if only I could have found a drugstore foundation for my skin tone. When it comes to makeup the struggle of a Black woman in France  is real....
2-Trying outfits in one of my favorite store. I loved both outfits and everything was on sale so I bought everything except for the shoes... Shopping addict ? Maybe...
3-I can easily remember when was the below picture taken as it was few weeks ago only. I decided to do my first blow out since I have cut my hair and I loved the result although the process was too long in my opinion. Details are coming on the blog very soon...
Hope you enjoyed exploring a little bit of what is in my smatphone.

Bye bye 2014 hello 2015 !!!

Follow me on FACEBOOK and now INSTAGRAM
Hello readers and first of all, sorry for the long hiatus. For the new readers hello and welcome to my beauty blog. To start the new year I have decided to look back for a moment at 2014 and share some of those moments with you in pictures.

A new hair cut- I want to start with May 2014 when I decided to cut all my hair off. Although I was on a hair journey for longerand healthier hair I remembered that I have always wanted to see myself with short hair and I finally decided to cut it all off. I did it all by myself and still I have no regret at all (more about it HERE)

A new job- While I was looking for a new position in London I ended up coming back to Paris because of a new opportunity. I have some friends in Paris so I reconnected with them, had great nights out and enjoyed the summer in Paris. Well when it was sunny... (complete outfit HERE)

A new country a new city- This new job was not only a good way to reconnect with Paris but also an opportunity to get a new work experience abroad. And this time it was in a very unexpected city and country: Chennai in South India. By the way I work in investment banking if you were wondering.

Discovering a new city, a new contry, new food, a new culture, a new lifestyle- I do plan on doing different posts about Chennai in the future so I won't develop more here; just know that I have really enjoyed this country.

Back to Paris- I have been back to Paris for a month now and my schedule was pretty busy which explain my hiatus. I went back to work directly; I had only 4 days to get a dress for my uncle's wedding (post on the outfiti coming soon). I probably should have taken some time off to rest but I did not. I went from 30°c to 3 °c in one day when I left India for Paris. Although I enjoyed Chennai I spent 2.5 months there mostly working with no friends and family around so I wanted to enjoy every moment back to France ...

...and of course what should have happenned happenned...

Paris is the place where I work but my hometown is in South of France so I could not wait     to go back there for Christmas. Paris was very cold, the sky was grey and I was very sick;  but in my city the sky is "always" blue. Not a light blue, not a grey blue, not blue with clouds; just blue.

Usually I do not make resolution for the new year but this year I have to make one. I really  want to get more organised in order to update this blog more frequently. I have always  talked about fashion, skincare, makeup with my friends with my family members with people working in stores with strangers, on other blogs; so it was just logical for me to start my own blog but to stay true to this logic I also have  to be more consistent. So that's my challenge for 2015.
I want to say thank you to those who follow me or to those who just happenned to came accross my blog. I wish you all the best and a very Happy new year !!!!!

Wy do we have acne and how to solve it ? part 1/2

 November 23rd; 2014
Hello readers, today I want to talk about a subject that I have had to deal with since my teenage years. I am talking about acne, blemishes, spot whatever you want to call it... As many people I suffered from acne as a teenager. At the time I thought that was horrible acne. Looking back I can be more realistic and say that it was bad acne but not horrible. Still it was bad enough for my mm to bring me to dermatologists. None of them were able to help me. Looking back I have realized that I am allergic to many ingredients that were part of many strong skincare products that they subscribed to me but none of them never wonder if my skin was suitable for those products...
My acne issues decreased naturally as I became an adult but never completely disappear; I have what they call acne prone skin. With a very good and strict skin care routine I have been able to control that issue. But those past months I had more and more pimples coming back again. Hence the reason why you may have noticed that I have slowed down a lot on my makeup looks posts. I have finally solved this issue so in this post I am going to explain you how I did it but also what are the rules and tricks I follow to control break out from my acne prone skin. If you have acne prone skin you probably also have sensitive skin. Meaning that to show that your skin is not happy it will react by producing pimples. And your skin may not be happy for many reasons.

1/Bacterias
You may think that avoiding touching your face with dirty hands is enough to minimize bacterias from your face... Well think again, you can do much better. During the night we spend around 8 hours with our face on the pillow case and it happens 7 times a week. At the end of the week it is 48 hours of sweat if you don't change it. Same thing for your face towel or makeup brushes. A solution is to change your pillow case every day or every other day; same thing for your towel and brushes and make sure to store those in a clean, closed and dry environment as humidity help bacterias to prolify. Those simple and free tips have help my skin tremendously.

2/Makeup
I think I have talked enough about the importance of removing makeup properly on this blog already; read HERE. You love long lasting and high-end makeup then take the necessary time to remove it properly and gently every single night. To make sure it is all gone you can use a clean and white towel or tissue to pad dry your face that way it will be easy to see if you have any makeup left on your skin. If that is the case; well clean your face again.

To spare you from reading a super long post I have decided to plit this one into two parts.
You can read part 2 HERE soon

Métro, boulot, dodo...

Hello readers, if you don't speak French you probably don't know the French expression: "Métro, boulot, dodo". Well the exact translation would be "metro, work, sleep" as you could already guess with the above picture. This is exactly what I have been doing those past weeks. I had minimm time for myself, friends and family and no time at all for my blog. I said on a previous post that I recently moved city/country/job and it takes time to get adjusted to everything that is why I have been on a little hiatus but I am not complaining. Life is good, I am back, and new posts are coming, starting tomorrow.
Missed you and thank you for being patient !

Bisous de Paris !

 July 4th; 2014

Hello hello, I don’t really talk about my private life on this blog because I want it to stay mainly focused on beauty, fashion, etc… But a few months ago on my “ Liebster award post” that you read HERE I talked a little bit about me and among other things I said that I was living in London.
Well things changed and work brought me back to Paris 2 weeks ago. I did work in Paris a couple of years ago so that is not a new city for me but I though you should know about this change as you may recognize the city trough upcoming pictures anyway. This new position will also take me to an unexpected country during the next 12 months. But I am not going to talk about it as off yet; you just have to be patient and keep reading this blog…

Hope life is being as good with you as it has been with me lately, and if that is not the case do not worry your turn will come...

XOxo from Paris

Liebster award / 11 questions to know more about me !

 March 30th; 2014
lire en français ici
Hello, today I am going to do something different. Last week I saw this sentence on my comment section Hi, you have been awarded by the Liebster AwardI am kind of new to blogging so I had no idea what the Liebster award was about. I clicked on the link that was left by the person and reached her blog where she explains that this award is like a chain among bloggers: 1/you receive 11 questions that you need to answer,2/if you agree to participate you need to leave a link to the blog that tagged you, 3/you answer the 11 questions, 4/you choose 11 bloggers you appreciate, 5/you ask them 11 questions as well. Of course you can't ask questions to the perdon that tagged you. I really like this idea because it gives the opportunity to find out new blogs and found out more about the actual blogger that answer the questions; in this particular case the blogger being “ME”.

I was tagged by a lovely lady and I am happy that she found out about my blog. Her blog focus on healthy hair care where she gives good tips, review products, and share her own healthy hair journey. This is her link: http://blessedwmnhairjourney.blogspot.com/

"Blessed Tresses" asked me the 11 following questions:
1. What do you enjoy about blogging? I enjoy the opportunity it gives me to interact with women from everywhere and with every backgrounds.
2. What is your favorite hairstyle? The twist out (defined and tight curls)
3. If you could meet one famous person, who would it be and why? I have to say Naomi Campbell because as a child she was the only succesfull black woman that I would see on magazines or TV and now still, I really admire her long carreer and success.
4. If you were stranded on an island what hair/body products could you not live without? This a difficult question; but although I love my hair I love my skin even more so I would bring skin care products: a cleanser (Origins checks and balances) a scrub (Khiel’s re-texturizing micro-dermabrasion) and a SPF moisturizer (Alpha-H essential moisturizer SPF 50)
5. What is your favorite food ?
This one is easy it has to be French food because it is well balanced. It is full of vegetables, meats, fish, fruits etc…
6. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Hawaii !!!!
7. Describe your fashion style?
I lOOOOve fashion but I do not "copy and paste" the trends. I wear what makes me look good and feel good. I can be very sophisticated one day, look very casual the next day and sexy the day after. My style depends on my mood and what I am doing (working, partying etc..).
Chic, colorful, and modern are the 3 words that would describe my fashion style the best.
8. If you could spend the entire day doing one thing, what would it be?
Cooking or reading a good book (mystery or thriller).
9. What’s your favorite color?
I don't have a favorite, I love all the colors
10. What’s your favorite television show or movie?
Easy, LOST. I am still sad that this tv show is over :-( :-(
11. Where do you live?
I live in London, UK

Thank you for the Liebster award, thank you for the fun questions , and thank you to all for reading my blog. I hope those answers will help you know a little bit more about me.

I did not find 11 bloggers to tag but I am close. Thank you in advance for those that will choose to participate.

My 11 questions are:
1/Why did you start blogging?
2/If you could spend one day doing one thing, what woult it be ?
3/What is your favorite meal?
4/How would you describe your fashion style?
5/What is your dream hair? (texture, length, color etc…)
6/What is the person you admire the most in your life?
7/What do you like to do on week-ends?
8/What would be your dream job?
9/How many kids would you love to have?
10/What is your favorite makeup or skincare line?
11/ If you could go back in your past what would you do differently?

Thank you
